fear, hate, resentment....
For that which you love above all things
loathing, anger, betrayal....
And you can't escape it
it's everywhere
waiting in the corners
hiding in the dark
blinding you with light
And it's never far behind
even if you run
always just ahead of you
even right beside you
quicker than you
But where did it come from
and why won't it leave?
You thought it was all you wanted
faith, trust, belonging....
that which you needed most
happiness, laughter, love....
and as much as you long to push it away
pray for it to end badly
wait for the eruption
you know it will always be
and you know you will go back for more
